Testimonials

Honestly, in love with this place. A cafe + Library..what a lovely combo! The ambience is aesthetic where one can chill and also work at the same time. Has great collection of books and decorated with posters and quotes. Food is also affordable. We ordered Chicken white sauce pasta and Schezwan veg sandwich. The quantity of pasta was quite less but was tasty. There were 3 pieces sandwiches with some fries. Overall a nice place to visit.

My favourite place to hang out and be by myself! This is a great place to come in if you want to work and chill at the same time. The interior is packed with a hell lot of books for you to read. Food is good too. The ambience is aesthetic for sure!

This place is just perfect for a book lover, as they have books of wide range. Service is also quite good. You're served with complimentary shots and also affordable. Good place to visit with a loved one and can have some good time here.

Renowned all over Assam, as the most sought after book lovers' nook, The Bibliophilia Cafe has been operational since 2012. Initiated as Starling Bookstore cum Library, the Cafe accumulated such proclaim throughout the Northeast and India that it was enlisted by Times of India as one among the '7 Must Visit Book Cafes Outside Delhi' in 2015. Despite such popularity all over the country, the Cafe remained non-operational for a couple of years due to the decline of reading culture, that fetched losses to procure new books. The reopening of the TBC on 1st January, 2020, comes with the motto of 'profit for purpose'. With a refreshing new look the Cafe opens with books stacked on all sides, and food and beverages to go alongside. Food is an added attraction this time, so that the revenue generated will help in the purchase of new books, leading to the enrichment of the library stock. Every person who picks on an eatable, would make a contribution to the social cause of continuing with the enterprise. Meanwhile, the ever abiding presence in the Cafe is that of the books, each book steadfastly waiting for it to be picked and read. So while you enjoy the food and drinks, grab a text and delight in the ambience-- for the maxim of TBC remains-- to stay lodged within the reading culture.
